Three Novaro authors give talks and promote their books at the Malvern Festival of Innovation
The Malvern Book Co-operative ran a promotion for three Novaro authors at the Malvern Festival of Innovation in October 2019. They each discussed their titles in front of an audience at the Malvern Theatre before signing copies afterwards.
Hilarie Owen, chief executive of The Leaders Institute, was interviewed about her title, We Lead: How women become leaders, by Dr Emma Philpott, chief executive of the Cybersecurity Forum.
She said it was not a question of whether women were born or taught as leaders. ‘It is about what you learn in crucible moments. Self-efficacy gives you the belief that you can do it.’
Paul Ashcroft and Garrick Jones, two pioneers of digital shift in organizations such as Coca-Cola and Novartis, discussed their title, Alive: Digital humans and their organizations, with David Paige of Business Mix.
Traditional models of learning and consulting are breaking apart, they said. ‘Organizations are now hyper-connected beasts. They are effectively alive. Access is as great at the bottom as at the top. You have to take care not to breed a monster.’
‘You want people to make their own change, but you can’t just rely on collaboration software. New skills and new ways of reading context are required. So chief learning officers are now becoming as powerful as chief financial officers.’
